For the Management Trainee Program, you should possess the following qualities:
• Recent university graduate from any discipline and / or preferably with 2-3 years of working experience since graduation
• Keen interest in pursuing a career in Ground Handling Management.
• Diligent and willing to work during irregular hours (including night, weekends, and holiday shifts)
• “Street wise” and ability to excel both in and outside the academic world

Our Management Trainee Program will give an in-depth look across the entire organization to prepare one for fast-track career. The candidate will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the business and influence key decisions. We immerse him/her with hands-on experience in various functional organizational areas.
This training is just the foundation. On this first role is where he/she’ll make a difference, and the rest of their career at LGS is where one will leave his/her mark and have an impact. After a 3-year period in the primary roles, we’ll expect him/her to embrace to the next challenge
The 3-year program is specially designed for all recent university graduates, including present employees, looking for profession opportunities. Suitable candidates will be offered a structured career development program covering:
• Approximate 1-month Induction training for each operational position (classroom and shadowing training)
This is to help understand the background of the Company and become familiar with different department operations.
As a Management Trainee he/she will work directly with one or more of our senior staff on diverse, exciting and often complex projects in areas like project management, strategy, pitching ideas, presenting and planning projects and building partnerships.
The program offers a unique combination of individual coaching and training from HR and Training throughout the year, in parallel with running strategic business-oriented projects supported by departmental manager each time. The trainings cover various skills, including situational leadership, work efficiency, presentation technique, coaching approach, and more. This creates a solid foundation for a future career, as well as for becoming an LGS leader. The trainings take place either at our headquarters in Larnaca or at any external training center.
• Departmental postings & work assignments
The candidate will get the opportunity to work closely with the CEO and top Management as well as all the decision-making people of LGS to kick-start an extremely exciting career in a fast-paced ground handling environment.
Everybody will rotate through many different departments in order to learn about the department operations and broaden their understanding of our business. Depending on the company’s requirements and the individual’s work performance, such placements may last from 6 months - 1 year for each posting. The candidate will spend his/her management trainee program in supporting and working closely with one or more of our senior colleague on varied and often complex projects in different areas of the business.
Typical postings will cover different aspects of the business, such as Passenger Handling services, Ramp and Operations, Cargo Management (freight) and Logistics Operations, Business Commercial and Marketing as well support functions such as HR and Training, Finance, IT, Planning and Administration. Through these postings, you will obtain a strong foundation in all-round chain management and general management skills and knowledge. He / she will face a steep learning curve, and receive hands-on experience of leadership, communications, analytics, regulations and principles etc. within LGS Ground Handling field.
The Management Trainee Program will give the individual a strong insight into the Cyprus and International Ground Handling industry.
Upon program completion - further corporate learning sponsorship
Depending on individual performance, development opportunities and further advancement to executive (supervisory) positions will be available for trainees with outstanding performances and capabilities to progress further along their career ladder.
Such Individuals and employer may co-invest alongside in securing employer sponsorship for courses such as MBA, professional qualifications or conversion courses etc. Such qualifications will aid individual’s career progression and the knowledge, skills that can enhance LGS and the person’s success.
LGS may subsidise executives with further learning aspirations to pursue continuing education and training by funding (fully or in part by employer). Such sponsorship will always be subject to terms and conditions.

After completing the Program
Depending on individual performance, development opportunities and further advancement to managerial positions will be available for trainees with outstanding performances and capabilities to progress further along their career ladder.
You will be entitled to all remuneration benefits as our permanent staff after the 6-9 probation period.
